The project “Accelerating Energy Efficiency in Large Industries through Energy Management Systems, System Optimization and the Promotion and Adoption of Energy Efficiency in SMEs in Vietnam” (IEEP) is implemented by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), and hosted by Ministry of Industry and Trade (MOIT).

The project “Accelerating Energy Efficiency in Large Industries through Energy Management Systems, System Optimization and the Promotion and Adoption of Energy Efficiency in SMEs in Vietnam” (IEEP) is implemented by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), with the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MOIT) serving as the executing agency.
The overall objective of the Project is to promote and stimulate the market for energy efficiency (EE) solutions and their adoption in the industrial sector—including designated energy users (DEUs) and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs)—to achieve greater energy savings, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and enhance the productivity and competitiveness of Vietnam’s industries.
The development and implementation of the IEEP Project demonstrate the commitment of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, with technical support from UNIDO, to strengthening regulations and guidelines on Energy Management Systems (EnMS) in accordance with ISO 50001, optimizing major energy-consuming systems, and enhancing both technical and financial capacities. These efforts aim to accelerate the widespread adoption of energy management systems and system optimization practices across industrial enterprises in Vietnam.
