Vietnam Energy Efficiency Community: Develop a Sustainable Ecosystem for Energy Efficiency and Conservation

On July 24, 2026, in Ho Chi Minh City, the Innovation, Green Transition and Industry Promotion Agency under the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MOIT) organized the workshop "Energy Efficiency and Conservation: Driving Force from Policy and Technology."
The workshop was one of the activities of the Vietnam Energy Efficiency Community under the Vietnam National Energy Efficiency Programme for the 2019–2030 Period (VNEEP3).
The event aimed to update participants on the Government's latest policies and regulations while introducing advanced technologies to improve energy efficiency in industrial production and business operations. Participants included representatives from government agencies, provincial Departments of Industry and Trade, associations, organizations, energy efficiency experts, industrial enterprises, industrial parks, manufacturing facilities, and other stakeholders.
Mr. Dang Hai Dung, Deputy Director of the Innovation, Green Transition and Industry Promotion Agency (IGIP - MOIT), delivered the opening remarks.
In his opening speech, Mr. Dang Hai Dung stated that the Ministry of Industry and Trade has established and developed the Vietnam Energy Efficiency Community as an open networking platform connecting government agencies, experts, organizations, enterprises, and individuals interested in energy efficiency. Officially launched in 2025, the Community is expected to become a national platform for knowledge sharing, practical experience exchange, technology collaboration, and the promotion of energy-efficient models across Vietnam.
“Building on the initial achievements, in 2026 the Ministry of Industry and Trade will organize a series of thematic workshops under the Vietnam Energy Efficiency Community in various localities nationwide. These workshops will serve as forums for stakeholders to exchange experiences, strengthen collaboration, update the latest technology trends, and foster partnerships among government agencies, organizations, enterprises, and technology solution providers, thereby developing a stronger and more sustainable energy efficiency ecosystem," Mr. Dang Hai Dung emphasized.

Mr. Nguyen Dinh Hiep, Chairman of VECEA, emphasised that the Vietnam Energy Efficiency Community is a highly meaningful initiative that connects government agencies, experts, enterprises, and organizations sharing the common goal of promoting energy efficiency throughout Vietnam.
"We are honored to collaborate with the Innovation, Green Transition and Industry Promotion Agency under the Ministry of Industry and Trade in developing the Vietnam Energy Efficiency Community throughout 2026. We firmly believe that, with the Department's leadership and the active participation of experts, enterprises, and both domestic and international organizations, the Community will continue to strengthen its role as an important platform for promoting advanced technologies, enhancing energy management capacity, and contributing to the achievement of Vietnam's national energy efficiency goals", Mr. Nguyen Dinh Hiep stated.
During the workshop, participants received updates on the latest policies, legal frameworks, regulations, and standards related to energy efficiency. Experts also analyzed the energy-saving potential of enterprises located in industrial parks and industrial clusters, assessed the opportunities and challenges associated with implementing energy efficiency measures, and proposed practical solutions to reduce production costs, improve energy performance, and strengthen business competitiveness.
One of the workshop's highlights was the presentation of advanced technological solutions by leading companies in the energy and equipment sectors. Particular attention was given to artificial intelligence (AI)-based solutions for monitoring, control, and system optimization, which were recognized as effective tools for improving operational efficiency, reducing energy consumption, and optimizing production costs. The workshop also featured discussions on smart industrial park models that leverage advanced management technologies to optimize operations and enhance energy performance. In addition, experts introduced smart factory solutions integrated with digital transformation, enabling manufacturers to optimize production processes, improve productivity, and strengthen their competitiveness.
More than 150 participants, primarily from consulting organizations and industrial enterprises, attended the workshop.
In addition to technology solutions, the workshop also provided information on financial mechanisms and investment support policies for energy efficiency projects, helping enterprises gain better access to financing and accelerate the implementation of energy-saving initiatives.
Alongside technical presentations, the workshop included an interactive question-and-answer session and direct consultations on technology solutions, financing options, and implementation models, creating valuable opportunities for enterprises, organizations, and experts to strengthen networking, exchange experiences, and foster cooperation.
Through the workshop, the organizers hope to enhance public awareness, accelerate the adoption of advanced technologies, promote successful energy efficiency models, and create stronger momentum for Vietnam's green transition, contributing to sustainable development and the country's greenhouse gas emission reduction commitments.
Following the workshop in Ho Chi Minh City, the next event in the Vietnam Energy Efficiency Community workshop series will be held in Da Nang in mid-August 2026.

The Vietnam Energy Efficiency Community (https://congdong.tietkiemnangluong.com.vn/) is an integrated platform providing comprehensive information and databases, including certified Energy Managers, Energy Auditors, energy consulting organizations, e-learning materials, training resources, and technical guidelines. The platform is continuously updated and improved to meet the diverse needs of organizations and individuals engaged in energy efficiency activities. Building on its achievements, the Ministry of Industry and Trade will organize 10 thematic workshops across Vietnam's Northern, Central, and Southern regions throughout 2026 under the Vietnam Energy Efficiency Community. These events will serve as forums connecting government agencies, experts, enterprises, and organizations in the energy sector to exchange experiences, update technological trends, and promote energy efficiency solutions. The Ministry expects the Vietnam Energy Efficiency Community to become a key platform connecting all stakeholders—including government agencies, enterprises, consulting organizations, technology solution providers, and technical experts. Ultimately, the Community aims to foster a sustainable ecosystem that advances energy efficiency and conservation throughout Vietnam. |
