On June 29, 2026, in Hanoi, the Innovation, Green Transition and Industrial Promotion Agency under the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MOIT) organized the workshop "Energy Efficiency and Conservation: Driving Change Through Policy and Technology."

The workshop is an activity of the Vietnam Energy Efficiency Community, implemented under the Vietnam National Energy Efficiency Programme 2019–2030 (VNEEP3).
The event was organized to provide updates on the Government's latest policies and regulations while showcasing advanced technological solutions to improve energy efficiency in industrial production and business operations. Participants included representatives from government agencies, provincial Departments of Industry and Trade and regional energy conservation centers in northern Vietnam, professional associations and organizations, energy efficiency experts, industrial enterprises, industrial parks, and manufacturing facilities.
Against the backdrop of steadily increasing energy demand, growing pressure to ensure energy security, and the urgent need to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, energy efficiency has become not only an immediate solution but also a key driver of green growth, enhanced business competitiveness, and sustainable development.
Mr. Dang Hai Dung, Deputy Director of the Innovation, Green Transition and Industrial Promotion Agency (MOIT), attended the workshop.
During the workshop, participants received updates from experts on newly issued policies, legal documents, and regulatory frameworks related to energy efficiency. Presentations also highlighted the significant energy-saving potential within enterprises located in industrial parks and industrial clusters, helping participants identify opportunities and challenges while sharing practical solutions to reduce production costs, improve energy performance, and strengthen business competitiveness.
Experts also introduced the concept of smart industrial parks, highlighting the application of modern management technologies to optimize operations and improve energy efficiency. Another key topic focused on smart factory solutions, which support digital transformation in manufacturing enterprises, enabling optimized production processes, increased productivity, and enhanced competitiveness in the evolving industrial landscape. In addition, leading companies in the energy and equipment sectors presented advanced technological solutions, including applications of artificial intelligence (AI) for system control and operational optimization. These technologies enable enterprises to improve operational efficiency, reduce energy consumption, and optimize production costs.
According to the experts, many modern energy efficiency technologies offer benefits that extend beyond industrial production and commercial operations, with broad potential for application in everyday life. These solutions can improve quality of life while accelerating the green transition and supporting sustainable development.
A wide range of policy updates and energy efficiency solutions were presented during the workshop.
In addition to technical presentations, the workshop included an interactive question-and-answer session and direct consultations on technology solutions, financing mechanisms, and successful implementation models. These activities provided valuable opportunities for businesses, organizations, and experts to strengthen networking, exchange practical experience, and foster future collaboration.
Through the workshop, the organizers hope to raise awareness, encourage the adoption of advanced technologies, promote best practices in energy efficiency, and generate strong momentum for Vietnam's green transition, contributing to sustainable development and the country's greenhouse gas emission reduction commitments.
Following the Hanoi event, the next workshop in the Vietnam Energy Efficiency Community series will be held in Ho Chi Minh City in mid-July 2026.
