The training program “Scaling Up Energy Efficiency for Technical Staff of Seafood Industrial Enterprises” within the framework of the VSUEE Project was held in Ho Chi Minh City.

From October 22 to 25, 2025, in Ho Chi Minh City, the training program “Scaling Up Energy Efficiency for Technical Staff of Seafood Industrial Enterprises” was organized under the framework of the “Vietnam Scaling Up Energy Efficiency Project (VSUEE).
The seafood sector is one of Vietnam’s key economic industries, contributing significantly to export turnover. However, it is also a major energy-consuming sector, especially in processing, freezing, preservation, and cold storage operations. Promoting the use of energy efficiency and conservation not only helps enterprises reduce production costs and enhance competitiveness but also enables them to meet increasingly stringent environmental standards set by major export markets such as the EU, Japan, and the United States.
Capacity building training program for technical staff in enterprises in the seafood sector.
The training program in Ho Chi Minh City was designed to equip technical staff in fisheries enterprises with the knowledge and practical skills needed to effectively implement energy efficiency solutions. The training content covered topics such as: Identification and development of energy efficiency (EE) projects; Technical–financial analysis and energy auditing; Measurement, monitoring, and verification (M&V) of energy-saving performance; Application of modern tools and technologies in energy management.
In addition, the program focused on energy efficiency solutions specific to the fisheries sector, including: waste heat recovery in production processes, optimization of refrigeration systems, effective insulation for steam systems, rooftop solar applications, and implementation of energy management systems in accordance with ISO 50001 standards. The training was delivered through an interactive teaching approach, combining lectures, group discussions, and analysis of real-world case studies in enterprises.
Through this training program, participants not only strengthened their professional knowledge but also had the opportunity to exchange experiences and update themselves on the latest technological trends in energy management and efficiency. This provides a solid foundation for enterprises in the fisheries sector to proactively develop green transition roadmaps, gradually improve production efficiency, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and increase the sustainable value of Vietnamese products.
The training program is part of Component 2: Technical Assistance of the VSUEE Project. It not only helps enhance the technical capacity of enterprise staff but also contributes to building a network of core experts and technical officers within the industry. This, in turn, supports enterprises in implementing large-scale energy efficiency solutions, advancing toward green and sustainable development and fulfilling Vietnam’s emission reduction commitments in the coming years.
