Hanoi - Hai Duong Beer Joint Stock Company is a subsidiary of Hanoi Beer - Alcohol - Beverage Corporation (Habeco). The company currently operates advanced and modern production equipment systems manufactured by Vietnam and the Federal Republic of Germany, including a Kiesselguhr and PVPP filtration system with a capacity of 150 hl/h, a bottle filling line with a capacity of 15,000 bottles/h produced by KRONES AG - FRG, and a PLC-controlled brewing and fermentation system manufactured by POLYCO - Vietnam.
The plant has a production capacity of 50 million liters of beer annually. From the moment it began operations, Hanoi - Hai Duong Beer Joint Stock Company has identified key tasks in production management, focusing on saving and reducing production costs through strict monitoring of technical economic norms, reducing material and energy consumption, and enhancing the company's competitiveness.

Enhancing the Role of the Energy Management Board
Since enacting the Law on Efficient and Economical Use of Energy in 2010, Hanoi - Hai Duong Beer Joint Stock Company has implemented various energy-saving measures. The company's Energy Management Board was established to oversee these efforts.
The Energy Management Board undertakes activities such as awareness campaigns, training sessions, and promoting initiatives for efficient energy use in production and business operations. The board advises company leadership on developing a five-year energy use plan and oversees the execution of annual energy use plans.
Mr. Tran Huy Loan, Director of Hanoi - Hai Duong Beer Joint Stock Company, stated that the Energy Management Board's objective is to implement the goals of the National Target Program on Energy Efficiency and the Law on Efficient and Economical Use of Energy. The company aims to save 1-2% of total energy consumption in production each year compared to the previous year.
The Energy Management Board at Hanoi - Hai Duong Beer Joint Stock Company conducts monthly assessments of electricity, water, and steam consumption at the beginning of each month. The company’s energy manager then prepares a detailed energy consumption report across different production areas, identifying high-energy consumption points and comparing them with production outputs. This analysis helps identify energy-intensive processes, allowing engineers and managers to implement targeted energy-saving measures in specific areas.
The company strictly adheres to energy audit requirements, regularly launching initiatives to encourage innovation and technical improvements, and fostering a culture of energy conservation among employees. The Energy Management Board frequently engages in awareness campaigns to instill a proactive approach to energy-saving practices throughout production and business operations.
Technological Upgrades for Energy Efficiency
Hanoi - Hai Duong Beer Joint Stock Company has consistently improved outdated technologies and adopted new energy-saving technologies. These upgrades have enhanced the efficiency of production stages such as brewing, fermentation, filtration, and bottling, while reducing energy waste.
Implementation of Inverter Systems and Other Energy-Saving Solutions.
Some notable energy-saving solutions implemented by the company include: Upgrading the hot water heating system to 78°C, reducing the steam condensate return process from 8 hours to 4 hours; Adjusting the speed of the wastewater treatment aerator, saving 38,448 kWh of electricity annually; Increasing the temperature of the mash tun from 50°C to 60°C, saving 6.9 tons of coal and 482,443 kWh of electricity annually;  Separating two CO2 vaporization units to operate independently, saving 1,728 kWh of electricity annually; Replacing incandescent and fluorescent lights with LED lights; Installing inverters for wastewater aerators, saving 72,560 kWh of electricity annually; Utilizing a biomass-fired boiler, which provides steam more quickly and consistently than a coal-fired boiler, resulting in cost savings on labor and energy, while also reducing environmental pollution.

In addition to investing in technology upgrades, the company has optimized processes to eliminate waste and improve energy efficiency in production. This includes rationalizing production, minimizing idle machine time, and ensuring that electrical equipment is turned off when not in use.
Thanks to the effective and comprehensive implementation of these energy-saving measures, Hanoi - Hai Duong Beer Joint Stock Company has become one of Hanoi’s key energy users, achieving significant energy savings over the years. Energy savings improved from -9.23% in 2018 to 1.27% in 2021.
