Star Fashion Co., Ltd is always focused on energy-saving solutions and environmental protection.
The factory's current electricity consumption is about 9.3 million kWh/year, of which 1.3 million kWh comes from the solar panel system installed on the factory roof and 8 million kWh is purchased from the national power grid. Additionally, the company operates boilers with environmentally friendly fuel, sawdust (biomass), about 1.2 million kg/year.
Ms. Do Thi Ngoc Bich - Director of HR and Sustainable Development at Star Fashion Company Ltd., said: "Saving electricity is not only the sustainable development strategy of the Crystal Group but also the sustainable development strategy of the company. Star Fashion Company Ltd., along with the Crystal Group, has set a goal to reduce absolute emissions by 35% by 2030 and achieve net-zero emissions by 2050. Every year, the company allocates a budget for electricity-saving activities, and for 2024, the company has planned a budget of 1 billion VND for these activities."

Regarding the use of sawdust energy for the boiler, in 2023, the company installed a heat recovery system from the boiler to heat water, with a total investment cost of 185 million VND. This solution has helped the company save 27 tons of sawdust (biomass) per year, equivalent to saving 68.9 million VND per year.

Star Fashion Co., Ltd. sets a goal of achieving net-zero emissions by 2050.
Especially, to achieve sustainable development goals, in line with the company's commitment to its partners and customers, besides energy saving, 100% of waste from production, including fabric scraps, cardboard boxes, and plastic bags, is recycled by the company. The portion that cannot be recycled is sent to Phu Hung Environmental Services Investment Company Limited for energy recovery incineration, and the ash from the incineration process is used as material for manufacturing non-fired bricks.
"In 2023, 92% of the company's production waste was processed by recycling methods, equivalent to 735,800kg; the remaining 8% of waste, equivalent to 60,262kg, was treated by energy recovery incineration," Ms. Bich reported.
