Vietnam Energy Efficiency Community: Supporting Green Transformation for Enterprises in Tay Ninh
Thứ năm, 01/10/2026 - 15:38
On September 30, 2026, in Tay Ninh Province, the Department of Energy and Petroleum under the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MOIT) organized the workshop “Energy Efficiency in Industry: From Policy to Practical Action.”
The workshop was one of the activities of the Vietnam Energy Efficiency Community under the Vietnam National Energy Efficiency Programme for the 2019–2030 period (VNEEP3).

The Vietnam Energy Efficiency Community supports enterprises in improving energy efficiency.
The workshop aimed to promote the activities of the Vietnam Energy Efficiency Community; provide updates on the Government’s latest policies and orientations; and share technological and financial solutions to support enterprises in improving energy efficiency, reducing production costs, enhancing competitiveness, and moving toward sustainable development.
Participants included representatives from government agencies; industry associations; research institutes; experts in energy efficiency and conservation; industrial enterprises, industrial parks, and manufacturing facilities; as well as organizations and companies providing technological and financial solutions for energy efficiency and conservation.

Mr. Dang Hai Dung, Deputy Director of the Department of Energy and Petroleum, delivers the opening remarks at the workshop.
In his opening remarks, Mr. Dang Hai Dung, Deputy Director of the Department of Energy and Petroleum under the Ministry of Industry and Trade, affirmed that for industrial enterprises, energy efficiency and conservation represent a practical solution for reducing production costs, enhancing competitiveness, and adapting to increasingly stringent market requirements. Such efforts need to begin with energy consumption data, equipment operating practices, and specific opportunities for improvement within factories and industrial parks.
Mr. Dung added that pressures for transition are also becoming increasingly evident in international trade. The European Union’s Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) entered its definitive phase in 2026 for several product groups, including iron and steel, aluminum, cement, fertilizers, electricity, and hydrogen. In addition, many other export industries must comply with increasingly stringent environmental and emissions requirements from trading partners. This requires enterprises to pay greater attention to energy efficiency, data management, and their ability to demonstrate measurable improvements in production.
“Through the Vietnam National Energy Efficiency Programme for the 2019–2030 period (VNEEP3), the Ministry of Industry and Trade is coordinating with local authorities, associations, and enterprises to translate policies into practice. Launched in 2025, the Vietnam Energy Efficiency Community was established as a platform connecting government agencies, experts, enterprises, solution providers, and financial institutions. Through this platform, stakeholders can share knowledge and implementation experience and introduce models and technologies suited to enterprises’ practical needs,” Mr. Dang Hai Dung emphasized.

Mr. Nguyen Dinh Hiep, Chairman of the Vietnam Energy Conservation and Energy Efficiency Association.
Mr. Nguyen Dinh Hiep, Chairman of the Vietnam Energy Conservation and Energy Efficiency Association (VECEA), noted that the workshop was not only a platform for sharing information but also a forum connecting government agencies, financial institutions, consulting and technology solution providers, and the business community. Such connections can help create opportunities for cooperation, promote investment in energy efficiency and conservation solutions, and contribute to realizing green growth and sustainable development goals.
“VECEA is honored to work alongside the Department of Energy and Petroleum, the agency responsible for leading and coordinating the VNEEP Program, in developing the Vietnam Energy Efficiency Community. We believe that, with the support of the Department of Energy and Petroleum and the active participation of relevant stakeholders, the Vietnam Energy Efficiency Community will increasingly strengthen its role as an important bridge, helping promote the adoption of advanced energy-efficient technologies, enhance energy management capacity, and contribute to achieving national energy efficiency and conservation targets,” Mr. Nguyen Dinh Hiep said.

The workshop introduced a range of energy-efficient technologies and models.
During the workshop, delegates were updated on mechanisms, policies, legal documents, and new regulations on energy efficiency and conservation. These updates are important in helping enterprises keep abreast of current regulatory orientations, legal requirements, and policies promoting energy efficiency and conservation.
In addition to policy updates, the workshop introduced a range of technological solutions and practical application models designed to improve energy efficiency in enterprises. The presentations focused on solutions for developing smart industrial parks and smart factories. The workshop also featured discussions on financial solutions to support enterprises in investing in energy efficiency projects, helping them access appropriate financial resources for technological innovation, improved production efficiency, and sustainable development.

Alongside in-depth presentations, the program included a question-and-answer session and direct consultations on technological and financial solutions, providing opportunities for experts, enterprises, and relevant organizations to exchange experience, strengthen connections, and promote cooperation.
Through the workshop, the Organizing Committee expects to contribute to raising awareness, promoting the adoption of advanced technologies, disseminating effective energy efficiency models, and creating stronger momentum for the green transition toward sustainable development and the fulfillment of Vietnam’s emission reduction commitments.
Following the workshop in Tay Ninh Province, the next Vietnam Energy Efficiency Community networking workshop will be held in Dong Nai Province in mid-October 2026. Previous workshops in the series were organized in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Bac Ninh, and Hai Phong.
