Policies, Technology and Finance Driving Energy Efficiency in the Industrial Sector

On August 13, 2026, in Da Nang City, MOIT organized "Policies, technologies, and finance to promote energy efficiency in the industrial sector" workshop.
The workshop was one of the activities of the Vietnam Energy Efficiency Community, under the Vietnam National Energy Efficiency Programme (2019–2030) (VNEEP3).
The workshop was organized to promote the activities of the Vietnam Energy Efficiency Community, provide updates on the Government’s latest policies and directions, and share technological and financial solutions to help businesses improve energy efficiency, reduce production costs, enhance competitiveness, and pursue sustainable development.
The workshop was attended by representatives of state management agencies; Departments of Industry and Trade in the Central region; industry associations and professional associations; research institutes; experts in energy efficiency; industrial enterprises, industrial parks, and production facilities; as well as organizations and businesses providing technology and financial solutions for energy efficiency.
Mr. Dang Hai Dung, Deputy Director of Innovation, Green Transition and Industrial Promotion Agency under the Ministry of Industry and Trade, delivered the opening remarks at the workshop.
In his opening remarks, Mr. Dang Hai Dung said that the Ministry of Industry and Trade has been implementing a comprehensive range of mechanisms, policies, and action programs to promote energy efficiency nationwide. Among these, the Vietnam National Energy Efficiency Programme (2019–2030) (VNEEP3) continues to play a central role, providing a foundation for raising awareness, supporting businesses in technological innovation, and promoting green transition across manufacturing industries.
One of the important achievements of VNEEP3 has been the Ministry of Industry and Trade’s establishment and development of the Vietnam Energy Efficiency Community—an open platform connecting government agencies, experts, organizations, businesses, and individuals interested in energy efficiency.
“The Vietnam Energy Efficiency Community has gradually become a forum for networking and knowledge sharing, disseminating practical models, solutions, and experience, thereby contributing to the promotion of technology adoption and innovation in energy efficiency,” Mr. Dang Hai Dung emphasized.

Mr. Nguyen Dinh Hiep affirmed that the Vietnam Energy Efficiency Community is a highly meaningful initiative that helps connect government agencies, experts, businesses, and organizations sharing the common goal of promoting energy efficiency in Vietnam.
“We are honored to work alongside the Authority for Innovation, Green Transition and Industrial Promotion under the Ministry of Industry and Trade in developing the Vietnam Energy Efficiency Community in 2026. We believe that, with the continued support of the Authority for Innovation, Green Transition and Industrial Promotion and the active participation of experts, businesses, and domestic and international organizations, the Vietnam Energy Efficiency Community will increasingly fulfill its role as an important bridge, contributing to the adoption of advanced technological solutions, strengthening energy management capacity, and realizing Vietnam’s national energy efficiency objectives,” Mr. Nguyen Dinh Hiep shared.
Within the framework of the workshop, participants were updated on mechanisms, policies, legal documents, and new regulations on energy efficiency. These were important areas of information to help businesses stay abreast of management directions, legal requirements, and policies promoting energy efficiency in the current period.
Alongside the policy updates, the workshop introduced various technological solutions and practical application models aimed at improving energy efficiency in businesses. The sessions focused on solutions for developing smart industrial parks and smart factories; advanced technologies in the cement industry to improve energy efficiency and reduce emissions; high-efficiency motor technologies to optimize equipment-system operations; as well as energy efficiency solutions for residential applications.
The workshop also included discussions on financial solutions to support businesses in investing in energy efficiency projects, helping them access appropriate financial resources for technological innovation, improving production efficiency, and pursuing sustainable development.
The workshop aimed to promote the adoption of advanced technologies and the dissemination of energy-efficient models.
In addition to the in-depth presentations, the program included a question-and-answer session and direct consultations on technological and financial solutions, providing opportunities for experts, businesses, and relevant organizations to exchange experience, strengthen connections, and promote cooperation.
Through the workshop, the Organizing Committee expected to contribute to raising awareness, promoting the adoption of advanced technologies, disseminating energy-efficient models, and creating strong momentum for the green transition, with a view to achieving sustainable development and fulfilling Vietnam’s emissions-reduction commitments.
Following the workshop in Da Nang City, the next workshop connecting the Vietnam Energy Efficiency Community will be held in Bac Ninh Province in late August 2026.

Mr. Truong Nguyen Quang Huy, Head of After-Sales Service Deployment, Daikin Air Conditioning (Vietnam) Co., Ltd., presented Topic 4: Applying AI Technology for Optimized Operation and Energy Efficiency.
Ms. Doan Thi Ha, Deputy General Director, Industrial Automation and Strategic Solutions Division, Schneider Electric Vietnam & Cambodia, presented Topic 5: Smart Factories: Optimizing Production and Creating Competitive Advantages.
Mr. Kasuya Tomotoshi, Chief Engineer and Senior Manager of the Engineering Department, Toshiba Asia Industrial Products Co., Ltd., presented Topic 6: Toshiba Advanced Motor Technology: Energy Efficiency and Sustainable Development.
Mr. Nguyen Huu Trung, Pre-Sales Consulting Team Leader, Ariston Vietnam Co., Ltd., presented Topic 7: Energy Efficiency: From Industrial Facilities to Residential Applications.
Mr. Tran Khanh, Director of Enterprises Customer Group, Bac A Commercial Joint Stock Bank, presented Topic 8: Effective Financing – A Lever for Energy Efficiency Projects.
The exhibition area showcasing energy-efficient products and technological solutions for the industrial sector attracted considerable interest from participants.
The Vietnam Energy Efficiency Community (congdong.tietkiemnangluong.com.vn) is a platform that consolidates and shares comprehensive information and data, including databases of energy managers, energy auditors, and energy consulting organizations, as well as e-learning courses, training materials, and technical guidelines. The Vietnam Energy Efficiency Community is regularly updated and enhanced to meet the diverse needs of organizations and individuals engaged in energy efficiency activities. Building on the positive results achieved, in 2026, under the framework of the Vietnam Energy Efficiency Community, the Ministry of Industry and Trade will organize a series of 10 thematic workshops across the Northern, Central, and Southern regions. The workshops will provide a forum for government agencies, experts, businesses, and organizations in the energy sector to connect, share experience, update technology trends, and promote energy efficiency solutions. The Ministry of Industry and Trade expects the Vietnam Energy Efficiency Community to become a bridge connecting relevant stakeholders, including government authorities, businesses, consulting organizations, technology solution providers, and technical experts. The Vietnam Energy Efficiency Community is contributing to the development of a sustainable ecosystem for energy efficiency in Vietnam. |
