As a member company of Vietnam Steel Corporation – JSC (VNSTEEL), VNSTEEL Thang Long Coated Steel Joint Stock Company has gradually established its position as one of the manufacturers of high-quality, environmentally friendly coated steel products in Vietnam.

With a designed capacity of 100,000 tonnes of galvanized steel and 70,000 tonnes of color-coated steel per year, VNSTEEL Thang Long not only effectively meets market demand but also contributes to supplying high-quality materials for civil, industrial, and infrastructure projects nationwide.

Alongside expanding its production capacity, the company has identified green transformation as one of its key development priorities. Accordingly, VNSTEEL Thang Long has continuously invested in modern, energy-efficient, and environmentally friendly technologies to improve production efficiency while meeting increasingly stringent sustainability requirements.

The company’s galvanized steel products are manufactured on a continuous hot-dip galvanizing line using advanced global technology, helping improve product quality, optimize production processes, and minimize environmental impacts.

According to Mr. Vu Tat Thanh, Deputy General Director of VNSTEEL Thang Long, over the past five to six years, the company has focused on optimizing production equipment, including pumps, main motors, and high-capacity exhaust fan systems, through the installation of integrated variable frequency drives (VFDs). This solution has significantly reduced electricity consumption while improving equipment operating efficiency.

"The company is also continuing to study the deployment of rooftop solar power to increase the use of clean energy in the coming period," Mr. Thanh said.

In addition, from the initial investment stage of the plant, the company selected LPG as the fuel for the paint-drying ovens and combustion furnaces on the galvanizing line. Compared with many traditional fuels, the use of LPG makes the production process more environmentally friendly and helps reduce CO₂ emissions.

The combustion systems are also regularly optimized to improve efficiency and reduce fuel consumption. At the same time, the company continues to study new solutions, including the potential investment in rooftop solar power, to gradually increase the share of clean energy used in production.

Beyond investing in equipment and technology, VNSTEEL Thang Long simultaneously maintains ISO 9001 for quality management, ISO 14001 for environmental management, and ISO 50001 for energy management. The integrated application of these advanced management systems enables the company to closely control product quality, improve energy efficiency, reduce emissions, and optimize resources throughout the production chain.

Looking ahead, VNSTEEL Thang Long will continue to accelerate the modernization of its production lines, develop a highly skilled workforce, and implement solutions to improve energy efficiency, reduce emissions, and conserve resources.
