In 2026, NSRP will further implement energy-saving measures in production and operations in accordance with ESG standards, while preparing for its “2030 Transformation Strategy”—a long-term roadmap toward the next phase of growth.
According to NSRP representatives, in recent years the Nghi Son refinery has invested in technological upgrades and process optimization to reduce fuel consumption during operations. At the same time, the company has applied advanced energy management systems, laying the groundwork for a successful transition to a sustainable development model. ESG is identified as a strategic requirement within Viet Nam’s national energy transition, and NSRP aims to become a national benchmark for responsible energy management and environmental innovation.
From an environmental perspective, NSRP will strictly control emissions and wastewater, increase by-product recycling, and move toward a “green refinery.” On the social front, the company ensures employment for thousands of workers and implements numerous community-oriented programs, such as marine environmental protection and enhanced safety for residents in the Nghi Son area. In terms of governance, NSRP pursues transparency, compliance with international standards, strengthened risk management, and the protection of shareholder and partner interests.
According to NSRP Deputy General Director Pham Van Chat, by viewing ESG as an inevitable pathway, NSRP places environmental and social responsibility alongside economic efficiency in order to integrate more deeply and become a trusted partner in international markets. This is not only a competitive advantage, but also a long-term commitment to sustainable development.

In 2025, despite continued volatility in the global economy and energy markets, NSRP maintained safe and stable operations at high capacity, reaffirming its position as one of Viet Nam’s key national industrial enterprises. This success not only contributed to ensuring energy security and making substantial contributions to the state budget, but also laid a solid foundation for sustainable development in the next phase.
Throughout 2025, the Nghi Son refinery operated continuously and safely, achieving its highest capacity based on optimized design. The plant received and processed 45 crude oil shipments, with a total volume of approximately 12 million tonnes of feedstock, supplying around 35–40% of Viet Nam’s domestic fuel demand.
Production and business activities also recorded positive results, with estimated revenue of approximately VND 188 trillion and state budget contributions exceeding VND 23 trillion, placing NSRP among the country’s largest budget contributors. Notably, by the end of 2025, the refinery had achieved over 24 million safe man-hours without any lost-time accidents, reflecting the serious and effective maintenance of a strong safety culture across all operations.
Alongside production activities, NSRP carried out corporate restructuring to strengthen its capacity to support long-term commercial operations. The company also implemented numerous initiatives and technical improvements, contributing to optimized internal energy consumption, reduced fuel losses, and enhanced production efficiency during the 2023–2025 period. By the end of 2025, NSRP successfully received its first crude oil shipment from a non-traditional source outside Kuwait, helping to diversify input supplies and enhance operational flexibility and adaptability amid increasingly unpredictable global energy market fluctuations.
In recognition of its efforts in safe operations, legal compliance, and the fulfillment of corporate social responsibility, NSRP was awarded a Certificate of Merit by the Chairman of the Thanh Hoa Provincial People’s Committee, along with the titles “Outstanding Enterprise of Thanh Hoa Province in 2025” and “Outstanding Entrepreneur of Thanh Hoa Province in 2025.”
