Bosch Vietnam Co., Ltd. has always paid special attention to investing in energy efficiency and environmental protection.
Bosch established its first representative office in Vietnam in 1994. Since 2007, Bosch Vietnam Co., Ltd. has continuously expanded its operations in the country, with offices in Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, and Da Nang, along with a drive belt manufacturing plant in Dong Nai Province, which produces continuously variable transmission (CVT) belts for automobiles.

Bosch’s CVT belt manufacturing plant is located in Long Thanh Industrial Park, Dong Nai Province.
As one of the leading industrial manufacturers in Vietnam, the Bosch Vietnam Plant places strong emphasis on energy efficiency, green production, and emission reduction. Bosch is also recognized as one of the pioneers in applying high technology in Dong Nai.
According to Mr. Brendan Sunderland, Vice President and Technical Director of Bosch Vietnam Plant, the pursuit of optimal energy efficiency solutions has always been a core and consistent strategy of the company’s leadership.
To reduce product costs, save financial expenses, and enhance competitiveness in both domestic and international markets, Bosch Vietnam Plant has implemented a series of energy efficiency measures, such as: Installing inverter-based air compressors, Installing heat recovery systems from compressors to preheat process water, Balancing the air supply of AHU systems in the Lth workshop, Shutting down unused transformers, Turning off the office air-conditioning system after working hours, Repairing compressed air leaks, and Using energy-efficient LED lighting.
In addition, the plant has also reduced air-conditioner operating hours in the Lth production area, cut down chiller 105a running hours, scheduled fixed on/off times for cafeteria air-conditioning, and adjusted the operating parameters of cooling tower systems.

Rooftop Solar Power System with Capacity of 1,540 kWp.
In 2023, Bosch Vietnam Plant installed a rooftop solar power system with a total capacity of 1,540 kWp. The system generates approximately 2,300 MWh of clean energy per year, reducing over 1,600 tons of CO₂ emissions—equivalent to planting around 30,000 trees annually.
“Our goal is to minimize and optimize electricity consumption in the factory’s production processes, and to strive for effective CO₂ neutrality through various innovative solutions. The solar power system is a testament to Bosch Vietnam’s commitment to sustainable energy use and environmental improvement,” emphasized Mr. Brendan Sunderland.
Alongside large-scale technological investments, the plant also prioritizes operational measures for energy efficiency. To that end, it has established an Energy Management Committee that defines clear functions and responsibilities for each member, and develops formal energy use policies.
Members of the committee are prioritized for training in energy efficiency knowledge and regularly exchange information on methods and best practices for efficient energy use.
Mr. Sunderland added that the plant has invested in BMS (Building Management System), PMS (Power Management System), and SCA systems — intelligent management tools that help optimize operations and save energy.
To identify energy consumption levels and energy-saving potential, thereby formulating appropriate energy efficiency solutions, the plant conducts energy audits every three years, with the most recent audit completed in 2022.
Bosch Vietnam Co., Ltd.’s bold investments and application of energy-saving measures have not only helped reduce production costs and enhance product quality but also mitigate environmental pollution. This is considered one of the most effective and forward-looking investment directions, enabling the company to achieve sustainable development and increase competitiveness in the market.
