When the prices of production inputs are all increasing, affecting the efficiency of production and business, enterprise in Kien Xuong district, Thai Binh province, proactively seek ways to reduce production costs, including the efficient use of electricity."
To promote enterprises to use energy efficiency and conservation, the Promotion and Consultancy Center for Industrial Development (Department of Industry and Trade) has implemented various practical support activities.
The clean water plant of Doan Truong Trong Construction Co, Ltd., in Le Loi commune has a capacity of 5,000m3/day, serving the domestic water needs of residents in four communes: Le Loi, Tra Giang, Hong Thai, Nam Cao. During the production process, the plant uses 01 37kW pump, 07 15kW pumps, and several other electric motors.
Thanh Anh J&B Garment Co, Ltd., uses modern industrial sewing machines with energy-saving technology, ensuring high labor productivity.
Mr. Doan Xuan Quynh, the company's director, shared: "The average revenue of the factory is approximately 320 million VND per month, while the electricity cost for production is about 80 million VND, accounting for 25% of the revenue. With such high electricity costs, combined with other expenses such as chemicals, labor, banks interest, the factory's profit is very low. Although we have used some automatic pump control devices, the reduction in electricity costs is not significant. We are currently focus-on researching ways to use energy more efficiently and economically."
Mr. Nguyen Thien Thanh, Director of Thanh Anh J&B Co., Ltd. (Nam Cao commune), stated: "The company specializes in manufacturing exported jackets. The production plant covers an area of 2,000m2 with over 300 industrial sewing machines and a system of lighting, cooling, boilers, etc., consuming a significant amount of electricity. Previously, the company had to spend over 80 million VND on electricity every month; with the current electricity prices, it would generate an additional nearly 10 million VND. Following guidance and training on energy-saving measures from the Promotion and Consultancy Center for Industrial Development, along with financial support from the promotion fund for technology and machinery conversion, the company has reduced electricity costs by about 180 million VND per year. Despite the reduced electricity costs, the company still maintains stable production and exports around 200,000 products per-year.
Logitex Co., Ltd., located in the Vu Ninh Industrial Cluster, has established a scientific production process to ensure machines operate efficiently, contributing to energy savings.
Not only Thanh Anh J&B Company and Doan Truong Trong Construction Co., Ltd., but also other enterprises in Kien Xuong district have a desire to save electricity in their production and business activities. The reality shows that businesses effectively implementing energy audits and using electricity efficiently not only reduce production costs but also make machines operate more stably and durably, with high labor productivity. Additionally, the working environment for employees continuously improves. Importantly, the use of energy-efficient and environmentally friendly practices, as well as the use of green energy, is one of the mandatory criteria for companies exporting products to markets such as the United States, Canada, the European Union, New Zealand, South Korea, Japan, etc., where strict requirements are imposed on the use of environmentally friendly energy and sustainable production.
With the desire to change the perception of enterprises regarding the use of energy efficiency and conservation practices and encourage them to innovate machinery, and technology, and utilize renewable and green energy, the Promotion and Consultancy Center for Industrial Development has organized numerous legal dissemination courses and spread as well as suggest solutions tailored to each industrial and production sectors of different enterprises, cooperatives and individual businesses in Kien Xuong district.
Ms. Tran Thi Dien, Deputy Director of the Center, shared: "We focus on guiding businesses in energy management skills and implementing energy-saving solutions in the use of lighting, office equipment, air conditioning, heating appliances, water heaters, refrigerators, industrial machinery, electric motors, etc. Additionally, industrial production facilities are introduced to new technologies for rooftop wind and solar power generation, allowing them to balance their investments and ensure a portion of the energy supply for production and business. The center also assesses and supports funding for some businesses to invest in innovative machinery and advanced technologies with high efficiency and energy savings, creating models that spread the movement of energy-efficient and effective usage throughout the community."
